A new Nintendo Switch firmware update is here. System software version 18.0.1 has been released. This update offers the typical stability features as all other updates have, while also fixing a problem some users have experienced with wireless connectivity. As for Atmosphere compatibility concerns, SciresM says that the current Atmosphere 1.7.0 pre-release version should work fine with the new firmware update. Source
The original Silent Hill 2 is considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time which is why anticipation of its upcoming remake has fans seriously hyped. Following months of speculation, Konami finally announced the Silent Hill 2 remake in October 2022 and it will be developed by the studio that brought us the likes of Layers of Fear, The Medium and Blair Witch, to name a few, Bloober Team. Check out the Silent Hill 2 trailer below! Granted, as a big fan of the series, I was a little disappointed that Konami had skipped giving us a modern remake of the original Silent Hill that was released on PlayStation in 1999 (and no, I'm not counting Shattered Memories) but given that Silent Hill 2 is one of my favourite video...
Despite it being over three years since it was first released, Cyberpunk 2077 is as popular as ever and now you can see it as never before thanks to a free 8K graphics boost. First released at the end of 2020 in quite a rough state, Cyberpunk 2077 has had one of the biggest comebacks in gaming history thanks to CD Projekt Red's tireless work. Check out another Cyberpunk 2077 mod below! Now three years on, it is in its best state yet and welcomed both a major update and DLC, Phantom Liberty, last year. However, fans want even more from the game's setting, the neon-covered metropolis of Night City and they have achieved that with an 8K graphics boost which is free to download and add to your game now. Created by Digital Dreams, the...
We all know that gaming can be a very expensive hobby, but it doesn't have to be. The latest AAA releases are guaranteed to gobble up our hard-earned cash, but there are plenty of offers, deals, and giveaways out there that are much kinder on our wallets. If you're a PC gamer, Steam is the place to go. While this storefront is home to plenty of stellar deals, it's also chock full of some lovely free-to-play delights. The ever-reliable SteamGamesPC has brought the six latest free-to-play offerings to our attention and those are Nine Realms, Project Entropy, Obilia, Simulation Training, Panda: Eats, Shoots and Leaves and SMYS. Unsure which to dive into? Worry not. I'm here to help explain exactly what each game consists of kicking off...
Would you like to play a fantastic indie shooter on Steam that some fans have been scoring 10/10 for free? Of course, you do, otherwise, I doubt you'd be reading these words if not. Back in the early 1990s, series such as DOOM, Wolfenstein and Quake were taking the video game industry by storm and would help shape the first-person shooter genre for generations to come. In fact, those series are still going strong to this very day. Check out the Ultrakill trailer below! However, no matter how the likes of DOOM and Wolfenstein have evolved today, sometimes it's nice to take a nostalgic trip down memory lane to a time of simpler days. It's why retro-inspired games are popular with the indie dev community and one such game is the...

Back in 2007, Atlus released the action RPG Aegis: The First Mission, a Persona 3 prequel focused on Aigis, exclusively for mobile phones in Japan. It hasn't been available to download for quite some time, and with no ROMs available online, the game was considered lost. That will change sometime soon, however, thanks to the G-Mode Archives, a series of re-releases of Japan-exclusive mobile phone games on Switch and Steam. The G-Mode Archives release, like the original, will only support Japanese text (as confirmed on the Steam page), but it's possible an English translation patch will be available after launch. While the original game has been lost, a full playthrough video was uploaded to the Japanese video-sharing website NicoNico...

How To Sign Up For The Technical Test Applying for access to the technical test is as easy as heading to the Hades 2 Steam page, scrolling down...
I would describe Read Only Memories: Neurodiver as a cyberpunk psychic mystery visual novel with point-and-click adventure elements. Or is it the other way around? Either way, use the word psychic in any capacity describing a game and I'll instantly be interested. (Or the word cryptid, kind of funny because Read Only Memories: Neurodiver actually references Mothmen 1966 by the same publisher.) It follows an esper (psychic) named Luna, codename Esper8801 or ES88 for short, as she tries to unravel the identity and reasoning of Golden Butterfly. I was lucky enough to play a preview build. Like, seriously lucky. Because I've been drawn fully into the world of future Neo-San Francisco. Luna is generally referred to as ES88 in-game, so I'm...
Another Xbox first-party game becomes available on other platforms. After the excellent Pentiment, Xbox and Obsidian have launched Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition on the Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5. These regal creatures are more than just a new face; they bring a new vibe to the backyard. When meeting them, it won't be about 'flexing your muscles' in combat but more about flexing your decision-making skills; it's about choices and consequences - ally with them and gain powerful friends, betray them and brace for some severe ant-itude...

The highly popular and accurate FPGA hardware, MisterFGPA, has received today a brand new update with a long-awaited feature, or rather, a new core for hardcore players to enjoy, with the N64 core. For the unaware, an FPGA stands for Field Programmable Gate Arrays, which in layman's terms means that the hardware is made up of a wide variety of "arrays" that allow the programmer to modify the way in which the hardware itself works, basically reconfiguring the hardware to achieve or meet certain requirements, and in some cases, to mimic other hardware, which in the case of the MisterFPGA, it mimics the original hardware of several video game consoles through "cores", which are developed by many contributors and cover a wide range of...
After more than a year and a half since the release of the original "Sonic The Hedgehog 2" movie and its post-credits teaser, today Paramount and many of SEGAs social media accounts shared the very first teaser trailer for the upcoming "Sonic The Hedgehog 3" movie, which will feature the first big screen appearance of Shadow The Hedgehog into the Sonic movie universe. The teaser itself is somewhat short, with around 20 seconds in length, and shows a logo very reminiscent of that of "Sonic Adventure 2" with the upper part having Sonic's quills with blue lighting, while the bottom part of the logo has Shadow's quills with red lighting in it, wrapping up with the full logo on-screen and the title of the movie, simply called "Sonic The...

Rumours about an upcoming Sonic Generations Remaster have been swirling around in several websites, with apparent leaks floating around with hints at a possible port or even a remaster of the now 10+ years old title. Today, a very intuitive fan by the name of MbKKssTBhz5 managed to find a new domain registration by the name of "Sonic X Shadow Generations", registered back in January 9th, 2024, which adds fuel to the circulating rumour about a possible imminent announcement for a resurgence of the Generations entry in the Sonic franchise. While fans where quick to catch the domain, trying to access it returns a "403 Error", with the message that the access "request [was] blocked". It's possible that this could be a fan-registered...
