In the wake of the Fallout TV series premiere, Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 4 is getting a massive update on Thursday, April 25. Fallout 4 was first released nearly a decade ago, but it is still beloved by fans of the franchise. Many fans have been looking forward to returning to the Commonwealth with the game's PS5 and Xbox Series X/S update, though the wait has been longer than expected.
Originally, the Fallout 4 next-gen update was supposed to come last year, but as 2023 came to a close, it became clear that fans were going to have to wait until 2024 for the open world RPG to get its long-awaited upgrade. Now Bethesda has finally announced the release date for the big Fallout 4 next-gen upgrade, along with other details about what fans can expect from it.
When the new Fallout 4 update drops on April 25, the game will add native support for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The update will introduce Performance and Quality modes, stability improvements, 60 FPS, increased resolutions, and various bug fixes. Those on PS4 and Xbox One will also benefit from the update, though they will be missing out on things like the Quality and Performance modes. PC gamers aren't being left out, either.
Free Creation Club items are being released to the masses with the new update. This includes the Enclave Remnants, which includes the new Echoes of the Past quest as well as various weapons, skins, and armor. Players can also check out the Makeshift Weapon Pack and the Halloween Workshop, with the latter adding 38 new Halloween decorations for players to customize their Fallout 4 settlements with.
