News Gaming accessory supplier AKNES launches new "Reviewer Development Program"

If you've been floating around the forum in the past year, AKNES might be a name you recognise, having supported users with their controller woes and given away a number of controllers and accessories. Earlier this year they moved most of their day to day operations over to Discord, and are today launching a new reviewer development program based on feedback and discussions within the community.

As both a reseller and an avenue of testing and support for brands including 8BitDo, GuliKit, and RetroFlag, amongst others, AKNES plans to offer product samples over a period of six months to help new creators get into the reviewing space. Applying for the program will require you join the AKNES Discord server and submit a review of anything you happen to own via whatever medium you'd want to be publishing on. There's no set standard or current audience size to apply, with creativity and individuality encouraged in submissions. Applications are due to be shortlisted on the 22nd of October, with those successful going onto receive further support from the brand.

We at AKNES truly believe that one of the best ways for us to show our faith in our products is getting them into reviewers' hands to allow them to honestly say what they feel about the products. It's also became very clear to us from our community here that there are lots of people who have a genuine interest in becoming product reviewers. This led us to wonder why people don't just do it and our conclusion was the access to products, companies won't give products for free to unknown reviewers with no or small followings and to buy the products just isn't viable financially as you would spend more than you make for a long time. So we decided to do something about it:

The AKNES Reviewer Development Program
We will provide free products to five up and coming reviewers for six months (minimum one product review per month) to help them establish a following. We will promote all videos via our Discord and we will create a dedicated channel with exiting reviewers to learn from. We do not care what medium you want to review—YouTube reviews, blog posting, TikTok shorts, Facebook etc. We want to help the new wave of reviewers find their style and their niche. The sky is the limit.

To qualify you must:

• Be honest about products, say everything you want, good, bad, and ugly
• Be willing to work hard and take constructive feedback
• Have all the equipment you need for your chosen medium

To Apply
Simply take something you already own, anything at all, and create a review of it. Do it in your own style, get creative. Once you have the review post it in the submissions channel here for all to see and we will draw up a short list on the 22nd October for the next stage for successful applicants.
