Pizza Tower is the rare sort of game that improves on its inspiration in nearly every way, building upon many of Nintendo’s Wario Land ideas with impressive results.
Visually, the pixel art style works well enough, and it helps on the Switch not being that complex a title so load times are minimal.
Kairosoft games are pure consumption, no meat, and while they’re fun – and this game is fun too (I hate coming across as overly critical of Kairosoft!) they are junk, and Doraemon deserved better.
Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is the last of the Ace Attorney Switch remakes, but certainly not the least of them. Just make sure you're up-to-date on Ace Attorney 1-3 first, or you'll miss out on half the fun.
As far as independent visual novels go, Celestia: Chain of Fate lands in that growing middle tier of visual novel.

Haunted Castle Revisited nonetheless represents a long-overdue rehabilitation for one of Konami's least auspicious arcade releases and is almost worth the cost of the Castlevania Dominus Collection on its own.
Castlevania Dominus Collection is quite possibly the best compilation that Konami and M2 have produced to date. It presents three exceptional DS games that easily stand the test of time and provide just as much enjoyment now as they did back in the 2000s.
Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn offers a tough and enjoyable return to this NES classic, expertly building upon what came before without erasing what made the original release great to begin with.
If you did play the remakes of the first two Famicom Detective Club titles then you’ll get more of the same here, just with modern standards of writing. That alone makes it a much stronger experience, because the narrative in this thing is incredible.
It's an entertaining ride, though the sheer volume of comedic banter will overwhelm as much as it entertains, and performance issues plague the experience throughout. Otherwise, it just about holds everything together and will no doubt appeal to some.
If you’re willing to look past a handful of typos and some fairly significant visual issues, WitchSpring R is a great example of turn-based combat with a strong story to back it up.
With Metroid Prime Remastered, the seemingly impossible has been achieved: a masterpiece has been made even better.
Bakeru is a sweet, snappy, and satisfying linear 3D platformer that feels like a wonderful callback to a genre that doesn’t get a ton of representation these days.
When everything comes together, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is definitely far from the worst witch – the premise is pleasant, the visuals and art are cute, and short runtime means there’s no fat that needs trimming.
It’s very good that the Switch has Ticket To Ride, as it is a lovely, inoffensive, easy-playing board game. It’s as accessible as something like Risk, Monopoly, or Catan, but less luck-based and therefore far less frustrating than those other games.
We didn't hate Elrentaros Wanderings' grindy dungeon-crawling gameplay. There are things to like, even if those moments are interspersed with long stretches of boring, repetitive enemy-bashing.
