Last year, it was announced by Microsoft that the Xbox 360 marketplace is shutting down for good. "On July 29, 2024, Xbox will stop supporting the ability to purchase new games, DLC, and other entertainment content from the Xbox 360 Store on the console and the Xbox 360 Marketplace," said the green brand in a blog post.
The pending closure of the Xbox 360 marketplace will also have an impact on movie and TV digital content which will also no longer be viewable on 29 July 2024. Of course, all good things must come to an end, especially in the digital age but that doesn't mean that we don't have good news to bring.
As of right now, you can take advantage of some massive Xbox 360 discounts which include the likes of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Dead Rising, the Resident Evil HD remake, Street Fighter X Tekken, and much more. It's worth noting that the discounts only seem to work when accessed via the Xbox website or the Xbox 360 marketplace, and not via Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One.
If you do decide to purchase any of the discounted Xbox 360 digital games they will however be accessible on your console of choice to download, including Xbox Series X/S. So if you fancy grabbing some bargains, make sure to do so before 29 July 2024.
I'll be grabbing a few digital bargains at the end of this month on payday, including a plethora of Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid goodness. I do love a good bargain.
