Gaming Summer Game Fest 2024 - live coverage

E3 may be gone, but it's not forgotten, as the trend of a massive Summer video game showcase still lives on in the form of the Summer Game Fest. Promising two hour of announcements and trailers, there will be a lot to see in the presentation. If you're interested in tuning in live, you can catch the show on YouTube and Twitch, when it kicks off at 5pm ET/10pm BST. The host of Summer Game Fest made an official statement clarifying that while there will be some new games shown, viewers may need to adjust their expectations, because a bulk of the presentation's content will focus on updates for pre-existing games.

The first show is a LEGO game that features Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn. Holiday 2024. Horizon LEGO Adventures. It won't just be on PS5, but PC and Switch as well. It has a focus on couch co-op.

Torn Banner, of Chivalry fame, is next. No Room in Hell 2 is their newest project. 8 player co-op. Zombies. PC, launches Halloween, Epic and Steam.

A Harry Potter game is next. It's Quidditch focused. Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, launches console and PC on September 3rd.

Cuff Bust is a prison break game with cutesy koala-like creatures. They're called Jailiens. A team group has to work to get out of jail. 2025.

Star Wars Outlaws has a new trailer...but expect to see more during Ubisoft's own showcase later this month.

From the creators of Gris comes a new game about a girl and a wolf cub. There's puzzle platformer elements. It's called Neva and will be out later this year.

Civ VII is coming next year. Will have a simultaneous console launch with the PC version.

Black Myth: Wukong launches August 20.

Once Human launches July 9th. Multiplayer open world survival.

Warhammer Space Marine is out this July as well.

Atlus's latest game takes the stage. Metaphor Re: Fantazio. We get an English gameplay and story trailer for the game. Out October 11th.

Batman Arkham Shadow is a new game in the Arkham series, and it's a Meta Quest exclusive VR game. Batman takes on the Rat King. Out this Fall.

We've got a fighting game up. An animated trailer for Fatal Fury...except it cuts to Street Fighter halfway in. M. Bison, Terry, and more, join Street Fighter VI's new DLC.

Tears of Metal is a Scottish-based action game. You fight through hoards of enemies, and have a party alongside you. It's also a roguelike.

Dragon Ball Z Sparking Zero is next. Catch some high energy Tenkaichi style action with the newest gameplay showcase. There's new What If stories to play, like Krillin dying during the Raditz fight, or Vegeta and Trunks killing Cell instead of Gohan. October 11th.

We've got a military FPS in the form of Delta Force: Black Hawk Down.

Fatal Fury is next, for real this time. City of the Wolves launches early next year.

Mechs aplenty in this new game. Lots of intricate designs. Summer closed beta coming this summer...the game is called Mecha Break. It'll have ground and air combat, sort of like Armored Core.

Crisol Theater of Idols, Grave Seasons, Sleep Awake, Fear the Spotlight, The Simulation, and Project C are all horror indie games being published by movie studio Blumhouse under their new video game label. There's lots of different spooky experiences for whatever kind of horror genre you like.

Power Rangers is getting a new game, It's an old school throwback arcade sprite beat-em-up. Rita's Rewind, coming to Steam.

Deer Boy is a new 2D game.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is coming. Releases this year.
