As featured during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, Sonokuni's new gameplay trailer also features a brand new, previously unheard track - AGAYA - giving players a sample of the intense hip hop soundscape they will encounter when they dive into a neon-soaked mission of vengeance.
And while the launch date is set for later this year, players are able to get an even better taste in the playable demo of Sonokuni playable right now and throughout Steam Next Fest from 10-17th June.
In Sonokuni, players take on the role of Takeru, a lone assassin tasked with raiding a surreal superpower empowered by biotechnology. Engage in up-close-and-personal combat against bizarre genetically mutated enemies. Attack, parry and bend time to your will to make it out clean on the other side. Fail and gain the wisdom needed to refine your strategy.
Are you ready to deliver vengeance? Wishlist the game now over on the Sonokuni Steam page!

Don Yasa Crew is a 7-person Japanese hip hop group who in 2019 - during the height of Covid pandemic lockdown in Japan - decided to make a game. With live performances impossible, their aim was to convey their particular have-not-hip-hop style through Sonokuni - a world and story infused with raw energetic music and a fresh biopunk take on Japanese mythology.
