The developer of the game "Dave the Diver", Jaeho Hwang, has confirmed that the studio Mintrocket is currently working on story-focused DLC for the game. Hwang stated that while the base game "didn't go really deep into the personal stories" in order to maintain a casual tone, the upcoming DLC will aim to fill in some of those narrative gaps.
Additionally, Hwang expressed interest in developing separate games that focus on the backstories and origins of the various characters that appear in Dave the Diver. He noted that one of the game's characters, Cobra, actually originated from Hwang's previous project "Evil Factory." Hwang said he wants to explore how Cobra and the other characters came to be part of the world of Dave the Diver through these potential spin-off titles.
Hwang also hinted that these spin-off games could experiment with different genres beyond the core adventure/simulation gameplay of the main Dave the Diver title. He suggested the possibility of showing Dave himself in a different profession prior to becoming a diver. Overall, it seems Mintrocket has ambitious plans to expand the Dave the Diver IP through both story-driven DLC and potentially even genre-hopping spin-off games focused on the supporting cast.
