The upcoming "Croc: Legend of the Gobbos" remaster looks to be a faithful update that preserves the original game's style and charm while incorporating visual enhancements for modern platforms. The comparison video shows the remaster is sharper, has a smoother frame rate, and features more defined distant objects and enemies compared to the original PlayStation and Sega Saturn versions from 1997.
The developer, Argonaut Games, states their goal was "to incorporate visual upgrades while retaining all the style & charm of the original". While not officially confirmed for Nintendo Switch yet, the remaster is planned to release on "current consoles", so a Switch version seems likely.
In addition to the graphical improvements, the remaster will also include updated controls and a new "Crocipedia" feature with development documents, interviews, and assets. Overall, it appears to be a thoughtful remaster that stays true to the original "Croc" experience.
