The video game developer Bloober Team, known for their work on the Silent Hill 2 remake, has announced a new original survival horror game called Cronos: The New Dawn.
Cronos is set in a grim, post-apocalyptic future in 1980s Poland, where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futuristic technology. The game features a "twisted time travel story" where the player takes on the role of a "Traveler" who is tasked with scouring the wastelands of the future to locate key people from the past who perished in the apocalypse. Using a powerful "Harvester" tool, the player can extract the "Essences" of these individuals and bring them back to the future.
Described as a "fresh survival experience" that merges the eerie atmosphere of horror with the boundless potential of science fiction, Cronos promises challenging combat against nightmarish creatures born from the remnants of humanity. Survival will require careful planning and tactical thinking, as quick decisions can mean the difference between life and death.
Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled to launch in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. This new IP represents a natural progression of Bloober Team's creative vision and commitment to redefining the horror genre.
