God, these Zenless Zone Zero updates are epic at the moment. While we're used to the unfathomable scale of HoYoverse's games, we're overawed by the sheer amount of events and activities the Chinese titan is adding to its urban fantasy RPG. The latest patch, Tour de Inferno, is coming on 25th September – and honestly, there's so much meat here we're going to break it down in bullet points.
- A new desert area, on the outskirts of New Eridu, named the Outer Ring will bring a continuation of the main storyline – and introduce new members of the biker gang Sons of Calydon, Caesar and Burnice.
- Caesar, a defensive character, will headline the banners in the first phase of the update, and she'll be followed by flamethrower-wielding anomaly agent Burnice in the second phase.
- As part of the biker-themed storyline, you'll be able to commandeer motorcycles in a new racing-style arcade minigame.
- In addition, a time-limited roguelike minigame named Bizarre Brigade will bring a new minigame to the Godfinger Arcade, where you'll be able to unlock different characters and rewards.
- A fresh event will see you running your own roadside diner, serving food and meeting the demands of your customers.
- Quality of life improvements will also offer optimizations to the TV board gameplay, making navigation smoother, quicker, and less stop-start.
- Elsewhere, Backup Battery Charge will be obtained while you're not playing, while you'll also be able to task FAIRY with earning any unobtained Observation Data while you're away.
This is a seriously enormous update, with lots of meaningful quality of life updates and some really fun minigames. We're also really enjoying the aesthetic of the new Outer Ring environment and the Sons of Calydon gang. But are you still playing Zenless Zone Zero daily, and will you be engaging with this avalanche of new activities? Let us know in the comments section below.
