The car-combat series has reached its fifth installment with the release of Twisted Metal: Black. The game is exclusive to the PlayStation 2 and has both fan favorites and a large number of brand-new characters. The music in the game fits in perfectly with the game's overall mood, which is highly ominous and gothic in nature. Graphics with a high level of detail, a day/night cycle, particle effects, and a frame rate that remains constant at 60. In addition, the game features a multiplayer option, which enables players to compete against each other in one of 1-4 multiplayer, choose from over 10 arenas, some of which are designed just for multiplayer, and engage in cooperative play. The score of the game features electronic and gothic music, as well as some industrial and acoustic guitar pieces, most notably Paint It Black, which plays during the game's closing credits.
